Contract Terms, Warranty, Policies, & Payment Terms

Reynolds Brothers Exteriors (RBE) provides a limited product warranty against manufacturing defects for twenty (20) years and a workmanship warranty for five (5) years from the date of installation. Customer warranty is non-transferable.

Liability is limited to repair or replacement of material installed and does not cover incidental damages. All repair work must be carried out by Reynolds Brothers Exteriors.

Sealant and leaks are covered under warranty for the 5 year workmanship period.

Our warranty specifically excludes:

  • Natural causes such as snow or ice buildup, ice damming, or damage from unobstructed snow or ice.
  • External forces applied to the gutter system such as ladders or other hanging items or any damage caused by homeowner or other parties.
  • Improper maintenance of the gutters, downpipes and other exterior products installed including regular cleaning to remove built-up leaves and debris (in eavestrough or on gutter guard) which restrict the free flow of water.
  • Homeowners with metal roofs will only receive our workmanship warranty if ice stops/snow guards are installed around the entire perimeter of the roofline.
  • RBE will aim to re-install existing heat cables in the way they were installed whenever possible. There is no warranty on the heat cables offered by RBE. Heat cables properly installed on the lower edge of the roofline will not be impacted unless the heat cables run through the downspouts. The inclusion of a gutter guard onto your eavestrough could affect the manner in which the cables are installed.
  • Christmas lights will be removed and disposed of if requested. Any Christmas lights that are to be kept by the homeowner need to be uninstalled by the homeowner prior to RBE arrival. There is no warranty on Christmas lights relating to damage and such offered by RBE.
  • Any wires or cables attached onto downspouts, eavestrough, soffit, or fascia. We will do our best to not damage however these are not appropriate fastening locations for cables and when we're dealing with removing metal from a home inadvertent damage can occur.

RBE reserves the right to terminate work on the project under certain circumstances, including but not limited to:

  • Non-Payment: Failure of the Client to make payments as outlined in the agreed payment schedule. 30% deposit with the balance owed at the end of the job. We reserve the right to change this equation depending on the size/scope of the job.
  • Breach of Contract: Any material breach of the contract terms by the Client.
  • Unsafe Conditions: The presence of unsafe working conditions that jeopardize the safety of RBE’s employees.
  • Permitting Issues: Inability to obtain or maintain necessary permits or approvals required to proceed with the work.
  • Client Interference: Unreasonable interference by the Client or their representatives that hinders the progress of the work. Any verbal abuse, aggressive and/or violent behavior towards our team will not be tolerated.
  • Unforeseen Circumstances: Unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, acts of God, or other force majeure events that make continuation of work impractical or impossible.

If any termination is deemed necessary, RBE will provide written notice to the Client, outlining the reasons for the termination. Upon termination, RBE will cease all work on the project, and any further job obligations will be void. RBE will make every effort to ensure that the Client is informed promptly to allow for alternative arrangements.

Estimate is valid for only 30 days from estimate date shown on page 1 of the estimate.  If no deposit is received in that time, the estimate becomes null and void.

The estimate is subject to change without notice and can happen at anytime prior to installation, even after estimate approval and/or if a deposit has been secured. Price changes are not a regular occurrence but some common reasons for price changes are unforeseen cost increases of imported products (ie. tariffs), raw materials cost, or currency fluctuations.  Customers always have the option to decline the revised estimate and receive their deposit back in full if one has been given.

Outside of change in price after acceptance as detailed above, deposits are non refundable once materials have been ordered.

Any changes in project scope or in material changes made by the customer after the original estimate, whether a deposit has been received or not, may result in the original estimate becoming null and void.

If you believe you have a valid claim, please contact Reynolds Brothers Exteriors. We will assess the damage and aim to reach an agreement on the necessary repairs. Please note that a proof of purchase invoice is required for warranty claims.

Payment Options:  E-transfer, bank draft, personal cheque, & credit card (excluding American Express).  As we don’t charge a processing fee, we reserve the right to accepting only a portion of the balance via credit card when we deem appropriate.

Payment Terms:  All invoices are ‘due upon receipt’.  We do not extend terms, full payment is to be made the day after receipt of invoice.  We reserve the right to allow for e-transfers to occur over several days should we deem it appropriate.
